Erdoğan visits India will most likely boost India-Turkey relations. It has been 14 years since Turkey and India decided to meet again. Thanks to the Indian former prime minister Bihari, it is seen as a next step forward which is expected to bring qualitative breakthroughs.

Deputy prime minister Advani was the first dignitary of the NDA government to have visited Turkey in 2001,  which concluded with an important agreement on an extradition treaty. In 2015, it was the turn of prime minister Narendra Modi who went to Antalya to meet the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the margins of the G20 summit which was followed by another meeting on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China in 2016.
